Thanksgiving is behind us and, this being San Antonio, its time to start talking about Fiesta, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The Texas Cavaliers today announced that Magnificent Missions will be the theme of the Fiesta 2018 King Antonio's River Parade.
"The Missions of the pioneering Spanish Catholics who came and settled San Antonio," the Cavaliers said. "Also, the missions of feeding, clothing, and housing our children."
The parade, and the Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation, will benefit 61 children's charities, and the Magnificent Missions theme will fit into the city's Tricentennial Celebration, which will culminate with San Antonio;s 300th birthday celebrations in May.
The Grand Marshal of the River Parade, appropriately, will be Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, who is the custodian of the Alamo.
