A suicide threat led to a scary situation in a northeast side neighborhood, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police got a call from a woman who reported a man was threatening to kill himself inside a home on Sunrise Crest, which is ear Binz-Engelman and Foster Rd.
The man then proceeded to set the house on fire, and climb onto the roof when fire crews arrived.
Fire officers who entered the house to fight the fire found 'items associated with bomb making components' inside the man's bedroom, according to police.
The area was cordoned off and a bomb squad was called in.. They did not find any completed bombs.
The explosives components were seized and neutralized and the man was arrested.
Damage from the fire was not severe and nobody was hurt.
