The suspect in the shooting death of a Texas state trooper is in custody. Authorities say Darbrett Black was captured tonight. Trooper Damon Allen was shot and killed Thanksgiving afternoon near Fairfield, about 70 miles south of Dallas. DPS tweeted the shooting took place during a traffic stop when the suspect opened fire as the trooper was returning to his patrol car. The trooper died at the scene. Allen was 41. DPS says he joined the force in 2002.
