San Antonio Firefighter Pulls Two Children Out of Burning N.W. Side Home

Some big time heroism on display  by a San Antonio Firefighter early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Fire companies were called to an alarm in the 13900 block of South Village Drive, just south of UTSA, about 3AM.

When they arrived they found a house fully engulfed in flames, and people screaming that two children were inside.

A firefighter ran into the burning home and pulled out a ten year old boy.

He then ran back in and rescued a seven year old girl.

Both of the children suffered from serious smoke inhalation and are in critical condition, but are expected to survive.

The firefighter was not hurt.

The house was a total loss.  Arson investigators are on the scene to determine the cause.
