Police have arrested a 38 year old man who has lost his chance to be named 'Father of the Year,' News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say Jose Orellana is the man who left his five year old daughter bleeding and with a broken leg in his pickup truck, after he wrecked his vehicle on Loop 1604 early Monday.
Orellana is charged with failure to stop and render aid...to his own daughter.
Police say Orellana drove his pickup off the exit ramp from Loop 1604 onto Blanco Road. When the truck crashed onto the main lanes of 1604, he took off, and left the little girl in the truck.
She was rushed to the hospital with a broken leg. County records say no bond has been set for Orellana.
