Vice President Pence Offers Condolences At Prayer Vigil

Pence

Vice President Mike Pence says the Texas community that suffered the worst mass shooting in state history  will not be broken.  The Vice President spoke at a prayer vigil for the  victims of the shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland  Springs last Sunday.  He said if the attacker's hope was to shatter the  churchgoers' faith, he failed.  Pence said he was there to offer  condolences to the small Texas community from the entire nation.  He  said America stands by the community and will never leave its side.   Pence also praised first responders for their swift action, saying they  undoubtedly saved many lives that day.

Meantime, at the vigil, Texas  Governor Greg Abbott announced that he's proclaiming this Sunday to be a  state-wide day of prayer.  The shooting claimed the lives of 26 people  and injured 20 others.
