Superhoeroes reign at North Central Baptist Hospital this Halloween!
Members of the San Antonio Police SWAT Unit dressed up as superheroes and rappelled from the roof of the Stone Oak hospital today, to bring some Halloween joy into the lives of kids who have to spend the spooky day in the hospital.
"Nobody ever wants to be in the hospital on Halloween," said Jeanne Vranes, the hospital's Pediatric Nursing Director. "But our goal is to make it the best Halloween they have ever had so they will remember it forever."
The superhero cops came into rooms through the windows to cheer on the kids.
"Just seeing the kids faces as well as the faces of the adults changes the whole atmosphere and makes being in the hospital fun for everybody."
She says it is a proven fact that when kids are smiling, it makes their medical treatment easier.
