Police say the shooting of two people in a home on the city's southwest side early today appears to be a domestic violence incident, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police were called to a home in the 5100 block of Sherry Street, which is off Old Pearsall Road, about 4AM for a report of people screaming inside a home.
When they arrived at the house, they found a woman shot in the stomach. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Officers were then flagged down to a home down the street, where they found another woman suffering from less serious gunshot wounds.
Police say the critically wounded woman is the mother of the less seriously wounded woman, and the suspect is the younger woman's male companion.
Officers suspect an argument ensued and the older woman tried to stop it and was shot.
The suspect made his getaway in a green SUV with paper plates.
