S.A. Gas Prices Now Lowest in the State

Hurricane Harvey and the 'Great Gas Panic of 2017' that followed it is just a memory at the San Antonio gas pumps, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

"There is some good news for San Antonio drivers," said Daniel Armbruster of AAA Texas.  "San Antonio now has the cheapest gasoline in the state of Texas, at $2.14, which is down 5 cents from last week."

The San Antonio gas price is now down to roughly where it was before Hurricane Harvey knocked out much of the Gulf Coast refinery capacity, and the consumer driven panic that followed it, pushed prices up close to $3 a gallon.

Armbruster says things have changed a lot since then.

"Some gas stations in Texas are now below $2 a gallon."

He says the average price of gas in Texas will fall below $2 by the holidays, as demand falls and supplies stabilize.
