SAPD: Woman Tuesday Not Sexually Assaulted at Hardberger Park

San Antonio Police said today there is no evidence that a 24 year old woman who was treated by EMS at Hardberger Park on Tuesday was a victim of a sexual assault, and she never claimed to be a victim, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police confirmed that officers were called to the park on Blanco Road on a report of a woman who was 'incoherent,' and suffering from some 'minor scrapes.

'Some news agencies put two and two together and came up with five, claiming that the woman 'might' have been sexually assaulted.

Sexual assault at Hardberger Park is a major issue, because a jogger was attacked from behind and sexually assaulted at the park last month, and the assailant has not been apprehended.

Several self defense classes specifically for women who frequent the park have been scheduled in the last few weeks.

But police say the woman yesterday made 'no allegations or outcry that a crime was committed,' and the woman was treated for her minor scrapes.

Police say the woman was 'uncooperative' and 'gave limited responses' to police.
