A police officer shot and wounded a man overnight, ending a six hour standoff at a home on Elizabeth Street in the upscale suburb of Terrell Hills, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police from several agencies, including San Antonio, surrounded the home when a gunshot was heard inside last night. Police say they had gotten a disturbance call in the area, and when they saw a man sitting on the curb and tried to determine if he was the person who had fired the shot, he 'became agitated' and walked inside. Immediately after he entered the house, a single shot was heard.
After waiting out the man for several hours, officers then heard several more shots inside, and then saw the man walking through the home's back yard.
They ordered the man to raise his hands, but he ignored them and walked toward the officers.
That's when one of the officers fired a round striking the suspect.
He was rushed to the hospital with non life threatening wounds.. Nobody else was hurt.
