One person was wounded when occupants of two vehicles began firing at each other as they drove down Babcock Road near Loop 1604 early Saturday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police were called about 4:15 AM on a report of gunshots being exchanged.
When they arrived, officers were told that people in a pickup and a sedan had opened fire on each other.
About fifteen minutes later, police found the car at a dead end on nearby Rocky Cedar Street.
One man inside the car was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the hip.. Two other men were seen running away from the car and scrambling into a nearby creek bed.
Police found no sign of the pickup, and are checking hospitals in case any wounded people show up.
There is no word on what sparked the exchange of gunfire, or whether the people in the pickups knew each other.
