The local economy continues to grow, as the Texas Workforce Commission reports the eight county San Antonio unemployment rate in September was 3.2%, among the lowest ever reported in San Antonio, and one of the lowest of any big city in the nation, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Economists generally consider that four percent unemployment is 'full employment,' due to the normal churn in employment, including people voluntarily between jobs, on leave, and on disability.
The TWC says, with the exception of leisure and hospitality, which saw the seasonal unemployment drops that come with the end of the summer vacation season, all major sectors, including manufacturing, finance, education, and health care, saw employment growth in September.
