Gas prices in San Antonio have almost returned to the level where they were before Hurricane Harvey hit, and before the bizarre 'gas panic' that followed the storm, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
AAA Texas reports that the average gas price in San Antonio today is $2.19, that is now 8 cents in the past week.
The week before the storm hit, gas was averaging $2.12 in the Alamo City.
“Gas stations across Texas are steadily dropping pump prices for the majority of motorists,” said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas/AAA New Mexico Senior Public Affairs Specialist. “Drivers will see stabilized or decreasing prices at the pump throughout this month due to high refinery production rates and decreasing seasonal demand.”
Gas prices averaged $2.67 the weekend that the hurricane hit the Texas coast.
Experts say they expect prices to continue to fall, and to be below $2 a gallon by the holidays.
