UPDATED: All Night Search Fails to Find Randolph AFB Intruder

UPDATE: Randolph AFB returning to normal operations following security scare

UPDATE:. Joint Base San Antonio said at 8AM Sunday that a search for the third intruder has turned up negative.

"Security Services will continue to be vigilant and looking for the subject," Randolph AFB said in a statement.

The base urgent all residents and employees to keep an eye out for the man, described as thinly built and in his mid 20s, and notify officials of any sightings.

A shelter in place order has been lifted at Randolph Air Force Base after a car stolen in Houston smashed through the east gate of the military base northeast of San Antonio, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

"Our security forces at Randolph received a phone call from Guadalupe Sheriff's Office, that they were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle," Col Thomas Miner, Commander of the 502nd Security and Readiness Group told News Radio 1200 WOAI.  "Later that vehicle made unauthorized access onto the installation."

Col. Miner said base police moved quickly."Three personnel were in the vehicle and two were apprehended," he said.  "One we were not able to apprehend and are searching for them now."

In a Facebook post, the base said the individual is not believed to be armed.  They are urging base residents and personnel to report any suspicious activity to police.

Col. Miner said the decision was made to cancel the Randolph High School Homecoming Dance due to the incident.

No word from Guadalupe County Deputies on why the drivers of the stolen vehicle were heading from Harris County toward San Antonio.

"We have ample personnel to search the base," Col. Miner said.
