While the death toll mounts, California fire authorities are claiming some progress on one of the largest fires in the state's Wine Country. CAL FIRE officials say the largest fire near Napa, the Atlas Fire, is now 56-percent contained after burning more than 51-thousand acres. The "San Francisco Chronicle" reports that wildfires around the city of Napa are not worsening. The deadly Tubbs Fire in Sonoma County was 50-percent contained as of last night. At least 40 people have been killed in the wildfires that have ravaged Northern California since they began a week ago, and the toll is expected to climb.
