A man was killed overnight when he was hit by a car while walking across Foster Road in east Bexar County, in the latest case of a pedestrian being killed or seriously hurt while trying to cross busy roads away from marked crosswalks, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Deputies say witnesses told them the man was walking 'very slowly' as he crossed the road near Lakeview, which is just south of FM 78.
The man was hit by a southbound car.The driver, as well as the Kirby Fire Department and employees at a nearby gas station rushed to help the victim, who was taken to SAMMC but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Deputies are still investigating to determine if criminal charges should be filed.
