One of the hundreds of people who was injured in the mass shooting in Vegas last night was Seguin Deputy Police Chief Bruce Ure, who was on vacation and attending the country concert with a friend, Seguin officials tell News Radio 1200 WOAI.
"He was hit in his hand by some shrapnel, but luckily that was it, and he's okay," Seguin city spokeswoman Morgan Ash said. She says Chief Ure was then able to help others who were hurt a lot more seriously.
"He was able to take two women who had been shot, commandeer a vehicle and drive them to the hospital,"she said.
Ash says Chief Ure was even able to apply a tourniquet to another victim who was bleeding badly.
"I think he probably saved some lives," she said.
