Remembering Tom Petty, dead at the age of 66

Tom Petty

Legendary rocker Tom Petty is dead at the age of 66.  The frontman for the band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was taken off life-support at a Los Angeles hospital today.  He was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest last night.  TMZ says a decision was made to take him off life-support because no brain activity had been detected.  The 66-year-old rocker just wrapped up a whirlwind tour with the Heartbreakers last Monday with three sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl.  The tour was celebrating the 40th anniversary of the band, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.  Their hits included "American Girl," "Free Fallin'," "Breakdown" and "Listen to Her Heart."
