The Spurs have announced that Kawhi Leonard is not expected to play in the preseason as he continues to recover from a right quad injury.
According to the Spurs, "Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard continues a rehabilitation program for right quadriceps tendinopathy. He's expected to miss the 2017 preseason. A timeline for his return to the court will be determined at a later date."
Leonard averaged 25.5 points and 5.8 rebounds for the Spurs last season. He made the All-Star Game for the second time in his career and was voted first team All-NBA. He was also named first team All-Defense.
