Amazon.com's new 'Treasure Truck' is Cruising San Antonio

Amazon.com revolutionized retail, and its doing it again by starting up its unique 'Treasure Truck in San Antonio, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The gaudy, brightly lit truck which looks like something out of carnival show, will travel around the city, and each place it stops, it will offer one specific item at a super low price..today the truck was across the street from the Scottish Rite Cathedral selling nineties-vintage video game sets for $79.

"So you should sign up for notifications, and you will know when the truck is out and what the offer is," Amazon spokeswoman Kate Scarpa told News Radio 1200 WOAI.  "So every time the truck is out, it will be one limited quantity offer."

She says the truck is strictly for use in San Antonio, so it will pop up all around the city, each time offering a new item for sale.  San Antonio is the 18th city to host a 'Treasure Truck.'

"All you have to do is go to the Amazon app, click to buy, and come pick up at the truck," she said.  "Its not just for prime members, its for all Amazon customers."

Amazon says the truck is a way to combine shopping with fun and the excitement of a 'pop up' event.  Some days the truck may be selling electronics, the next day it could be chocolates.

"At Treasure Truck, we hand pick our items, load them on the truck, then cruise around town spreading joy for everyone with a smartphone and an appetite for fun," Amazon said.
