Now that the Texas DPS has declared the Bandidos Motorcycle Organization to be a 'criminal gang,' federal prosecutors are moving quickly to put the Bandidos out of business, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
A fourth Bandido has pleaded guilty in connection with the murder of a rival Hell's Angel back in 2006.
Prosecutors say the Bandidos were afraid that Hell's Angel Anthony Benesh's attempt to establish a chapter in Austin would muscle into their territory.
"Members of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Organization warned Benesh to cease his activities and recrutitment, which Benesh ignored," the federal complaint says.
"Benesh was then murdered to protect the power, reputation and territory of the Bandidos enterprise."
The National Sergeant at Arms and two officers of the San Antonio Bandidos chapter have also pleaded guilty in connection with Benesh's death. All face up to life in federal prison.
