The National Weather Service is warning that the entire South Central Texas region will see some significant rains over the coming several days, with the possibility of flooding rains in the western part of the region, News Radio 1200 WOAI reprots.
"Areas of localized heavy rainfall leading to flash and river flooding will be possible Monday afternoon through early Thursday morning, with the highest likelihood near the Rio Grande Plains and into the southern Edwards Plateau along Highway 83," the San Antonio Austin Office of the NWS said in an advisory.
The entire region could receive 3 too 6 inches of rain, with up to ten inches possible in the western part of South Central Texas, leading to 'moderate flooding,' with low lying streets and homes affected.
"Given the rocky soil in the expected highest rainfall location, river and flash flooding is of particular concern," the NWS said.
After the storms pass on Thursday, we can expect significantly cooler weather. The NWS says on Friday, we will see highs in the mid to upper 70s.
