Good Samaritan Killed by Hit & Run Driver on Northeast Side

More proof that no good deed goes unpunished.

Police tell News Radio 1200 WOAI that a 68 year old man was killed overnight after he was run over while trying to check on the people involved in a minor accident.  Police say the man was rushed to the hospital with multiple injuries and was pronounced dead.

The wreck happened on FM 78 on the city's northeast side.

Lloyd Littrell happened to drive up just after the wreck.  As he was getting out of his car to check on the status of people involved in the accident, he was run over by a speeding car.

Littrell also suffered internal injuries and multiple broken bones.

The driver that hit him, police said, slowed down, but when he saw what he had done, he sped away.  Police say he will probably face charges when he is arrested.
