In a surprising finish, unbeaten middleweight champion Gennady "Triple G" Golovkin fought to a controversial draw with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in Las Vegas Saturday night. One judge scored the fight 115-113 for Triple G, another scored it a 114-114 draw, and the final judge scored it 118-110 for Canelo, which drew much criticism as most viewers felt Golovkin won outright. Golovkin landed 218 punches compared to 169 for Canelo. "Triple G" is still the WBA, WBC and IBF middleweight champion and his record is now 37-0-and-1 with 33 knockouts. Alvarez now sits at 49-1-and-2.
