Downtown Bar Has Texas' First Champagne Vending Machine

The downtown hipster bar ‘Paramour’ has become the first location in Texas to feature a coin operated champagne vending machine, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Misael Gonzalez, who is the wine and Champagne Director at Paramour, says  steps are taken to make sure that users of the vending machine are of legal age.  He says customers have to obtain a special coin from a bartender or from the wait staff to activate the machine.

“Everything is bigger in Texas, so we decided we wanted our Champagne program to be big, bold, and in your face,” Gonzalez said.  “Champagne has always been at the center of our beverage program, we believe it is the symbol of celebration and new life, and we want people to celebrate everything and everything here at Paramour.”

He says once the coin is entered, customers can choose between three types of champagne in a six ounce bottle, Moet & Chandon, Imperial, or Moet & Chandon Imperial.

He says customers can drink the Champagne right out of the bottle, request a glass, or a flute topper.

"We are thrilled that Paramour is joining a select set of locations across the country that offer their guests an innovative champagne experience in the Moët & Chandon vending machine. We look forward to San Antonians sharing their Moët Moment as they toast to occasions big and small,” said Kenny Moore, Brand Director of Moët & Chandon.
