A major accident that closed Loop 1604 in both directions this afternoon was caused by a man who ran across 1604 and then jumped off the Blanco Rd bridge, News Radio 1200 WOAI news reports.
Police say four cars were involved in two separate accidents when they tried to avoid the man.
The man then ran onto the access road and onto the bridge.. He landed on the westbound lanes of Loop 1604 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one was else was seriously hurt.
