Secretary of Defense James Mattis briefed President Trump and other members of the National Security team today at the White House regarding military readiness for North Korea. The former general says the U.S. has many military options available. Mattis says President Trump wanted to be briefed on the various options. Mattis says they made clear the U.S. has the ability to defend itself and its allies, including South Korea and Japan. The secretary says any threat to the U.S, or its territories will be met with a massive military response.
