The man who brought "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" to the big screen in 1974 is dead. Horror director Tobe Hooper passed away Saturday at his California home at the age of 74. Hooper directed the movie about the family with a taste for human flesh, a film once banned in several countries and one that influenced a generation of horror filmmakers. He also went on to direct 1982's "Poltergeist," another classic in the genre.
