A Texas man has been charged with trying to bomb a Houston Confederate statue.
25-year-old Andrew Schneck was taken into custody over the weekend after he was confronted by officers in Hermann Park. The FBI, ATF, and police later raided the suspect's home near Rice University, and apparently found hazardous materials inside.
Neighbors were told to leave the area because of the operation.
Schneck was reportedly released from probation early last year after being convicted in 2015 of storing explosives.
