City Councilman Fixes Potholes

Newly elected northwest side Councilman Manny Pelaez took off his suit jacker and put on a hard hat today, as he joined a city crew in fixing a pothole in his 8th District, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Pelaez says making sure the city's streets are in good shape is a bigger job than most people think."San Antonio has about 4,000 miles of streets and roadways," he said.  "That is the same distance between San Antonio and Anchorage."

Pelaez says the value of the city's streets department can't be under estimated."

Today, what I'm doing is helping folks understand that our roads department is one of the most important assets we have in San Antonio."

Streets and sidewalks were the number one priority in the proposed 2018 city budget unveiled last week, and fixing potholes and repairing and improving streets is consistently one of the key things people demand of their city government.
