It seems like everywhere you look in San Antonio apartments are springing up, and now a new study shows San Antonio among the top 15 cities n the country for new apartment openings this year, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The real estate firm Yardi Matrix says more than 7400 new apartments will open in San Antonio this year alone. More new apartments will open this year in San Antonio than will open in San Francisco.
In fact, all four major Texas cities, San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex, are on Yardi Matrix's list of the top 15 cities in the country for apartment openings.
Apartment construction nationwide is at a twenty year high.
Reasons for the apartment boom include the boom in population in the City, as well as the inability of millennials, stressed out by student loan debt, to come up with the down payments and buy homes.
