It's last call for a San Antonio man who drive his car into a crowd of people on the city's west side last year, when he was more than twice over the legal limit for alcohol, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Juan Perez-Turrubiate, 24, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for intoxication manslaughter, and another ten years for failure to stop and render aid. Both sentences will be served concurrently.
Prosecutors say Perea-Turrubiate had a .18 blood alcohol content when he jumped a curb at General McMullen and West commerce at 4AM on June 12, 2016, crashing into a crowd of people.
Despite the fact that several people were maimed and seriously wounded and two had been trpped under Perez-Turrubiate's vehicle, he actually jumped out of his car and tried to run away, but was held by passers by until police arrived.
One of his victims had to have her leg amputated, and others suffered life altering injuries.
