The Houston Astros will be without star shortstop Carlos Correa for up six to eight weeks with a torn ligament in his left thumb, the team announced.
Correa suffered the injury during Monday's game against the Mariners when he jammed the thumb on a swing. Correa told reporters he underwent an MRI exam and will undergo surgery on a yet-to-be-determined date."
At this point of the season you don't want to get hurt, you want to keep playing," Correa told reporters on Tuesday. "It has been a fun season so far for this team."
