A driver is in custody following a high speed chase through the northeast side early Sunday, which ended in the parking lot of the Barn Door Restaurant on North New Braunfels, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Deputies say it started about 2AM when a patrol officer saw the man driving erratically down Loop 410 near the airport.
No sooner had the lights and siren came on, than the guy hit the gas. He turned south on US 281, they got off near the Quarry, turned east on Basse, to New Braunfels, and back north, with the deputy in pursuit all the while.
The guy finally slammed into a light pole in the parking lot of the Barn Door, which is on New Braunfels just inside Loop 410.
But the guy wasn't done.
He dashed away on foot, but deputies found him cowering in some nearby bushes.He was arrested and will face multiple charges, including drunk driving.
