Your weekend is getting a whole lot sweeter as Sunday is National Ice Cream Day. To satisfy your taste buds, freebies and deals will be offered at participating Baskin-Robbins, Carvel, Friendly's and McDonald's locations. Even pets are getting in on the deals. Petsmart will be giving away free doggie-safe ice cream sundaes at its locations. Back in 1984, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream month and established National Ice Cream Day as the third Sunday in July.
