Three people were shot, one of them critically wounded, in a drive by shooting early Monday in a northeast side neighborhood which has been at ground zero of the city's violent crime spike over the past two years, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say a gunman in a car drove by a home in the 4000 block of Sunrise Cove, which is near Foster Road and Binz-Engleman, about midnight this morning, and opened fire on a house, spraying bullets wildly.
Two people were hit by gunfire, one in the head, and the other in the arm.
Somebody who was in the group being fired at pulled a gun and shot back, hitting one person in the drive by car.
That victim was taken to Northeast Baptist Hospital and dumped off by his caring thug friends, who then sped away.
The two people who were wounded near the house were rushed to the same hospital, and one was transferred to University Hospital in extremely critical condition.
As usual, police don't know whether the people who were shot were the people the gunman in the car was aiming at, and they have no clue why they gunman started firing.
The people involved in the shooting wouldn't tell police anything.
