Dallas Police Officers Pounding a San Antonio Beat This Afternoon

More than a dozen Dallas Police Officers are walking a beat out of San Antonio Police Department's Central Patrol station today, to allow the officers who worked with murdered Officer Miguel Moreno to attend the officer's visitation tonight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports

."We have a number of Dallas police officers who came down to assist our officers patrolling while the funeral is going on, so we can get as many officers as we can to the funeral," Chief William McManus said.

Tomorrow marks the first anniversary of the Dallas police shooting that left five officers dead.  Several San Antonio officers traveled to Dallas after that event to help those officers attend the funerals of their colleagues.

The public viewing takes place at Porter Loring downtown until 9PM tonight.  The funeral procession will begin Friday morning at 8 from the Alamodome parking lot, and will go up 281 to Loop 1604, then east to Community Bible Church, where the services will take place.

"Its great to see that support coming from law enforcement and you would respect that," McManus said.  "We have a great community here in San Antonio that has been so supportive."
