SAPD: Woman Dies After Being Hit by Patrol Car

A San Antonio Police Officer apparently ran over and killed a woman as he was answering a call for illegal fireworks being shot off in a northeast side neighborhood, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The officer was dispatched about 10:30 Tuesday night to the corner of Fountainwood and Crainwood, which is near Nacogdoches and Judson, to investigate a fireworks complaint.

Later, the officer reported back to the dispatcher on the police radio, "I just ran over someone."

A yellow cloth covering a body was lying next to the police are when a 1200 WOAI reporter arrived about 11PM, but police sergeants and supervisors on the scene would not comment at all about the incident, and what caused it.

The Medical Examiner's office confirmed that a person, identified as a 63 year old woman, was killed in the incident.
