A 32 year old man was killed today when his car wrecked on Highway 46 in New Braunfels and he was hit by a pickup truck as he tried to walk for help, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports
.Police say Rudy Varela, Jr. was driving southbound on 46 when his Volkswagon Jetta went out of control and hit a guard rail.His car was unmoveable, so Varela decided to get out and walk to get help.
At that point, a pickup came by and his him as he attempted to run across the higway.
Varela was airlifted to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.The pickup driver will not face charges.
