The City of San Antonio today unveiled the logo which will attach to its newly trademarked slogan 'Military City USA,' News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The logo, which consists of a red white and blue design of the Alamo with dog tags draped over its facade, will be used in a variety of events, from promotions to job training and recruitment events.

"Every medic in the Defense Department is trained here in San Antonio, every Airman goes through the grounds of Lackland Air Force Base, more than 800 pilots per year for the United States Air Force are trained in San Antonio Texas."
San Antonio is home to the largest military hospital in the DoD and the largest Joint Base in the Department. In addition, an estimated quarter million veterans live in San Antonio, and 283,000 Texans are supported directly or indirectly by the $48 billion a year JBSA contributes to the area economy.
City Manager Sheryl Sculley says other cities, like Colorado Springs, San Diego. and Jacksonville, have, from time to time, styled themselves as 'Military City,' so it was important to get the logo trademarked.
The ceremony, appropriately, took place at City Hall, located at what was designated by the Spanish as Military Plaza.
