Alamodome to Prohibit Purses, Backpacks, and Other Non Clear Bags

No more purses, briefcases, or backpacks in the Alamodome, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The City of San Antonio today announced a new 'clear bag' policy for people attending all events at the dome, from conventions to concerts, to trade shows to sporting events.

From now on, purses, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, computer bags, cameras bags, binocular cases and seat cushions will be forbidden.

All bags have to be less than 12x6x12, and must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC so the contents are easily recognizable.

An exception will be made for 'medically necessary items' as well as for diaper bags, although some lucky guard will get to inspect your poopy baby diapers.

Alamodome officials didn't say if any one specific incident or threat led to this new policy, which is effective on Saturday, which is the next time an event takes place at the Alamodome.
