Today is the final day to vote early in the runoff election for Mayor and six City Council seats up for grabs on Saturday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

In addition to incumbent Ivy Taylor and challenger Ron Nirenberg squaring off in the Mayor's race, Council seats are up for grabs in Districts 6, 9, and 10, where incumbents did not seek re-election, Districts 1 and 2, where the incumbent was forced into a runoff, and in District 8, which Nirenberg is abandoning to run for Mayor

.As usual in low turnout elections, the vote on the city's north side is by far the strongest.  Cody Library on Vance Jackson, the Brookhollow Library on Heimer, and the Great Northwest Library off Grissom Road have shown by far the largest number of votes.

That's why both Taylor and Nirenberg are touting support from conservative leaders and talking about financial responsibility, key issues for north side voters.
