One day after the emotional funeral of fallen firefighter Scott Deem, the family of Firefighter Brad Phipps, who was badly burned in the fire that killed his Engine 35 partner, remains in critical condition, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The family of Firefighter Phipps says he remains in critical condition at the Institute of Surgical Research, the world-renowned burn unit at BAMC, where he has undergone a 'series of procedures.'
"Brad's family appreciates the outpouring of love and support from the community, and asks that you keep Brad in your prayers," the family said in the statement. "Brad is receiving the best care and the staff at the burn unit is doing everything they can to insure Brad continues on the road to recovery."
The family says it will be a 'tough road ahead' for the injured firefighter, who has already undergone at least one skin graft.
"There willbe good and bad days ahead fro him and his condition could change from day to day. Thank you very much for your love and support."
