The most significant endorsement in the race for Mayor is from the San Antonio Police Officers Association, and today the SAPOA threw its weight behind Ivy Taylor's bid for re-election, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports
."She is a candidate that we feel, as a police assocation, that you can trust," President Mike Helle said. "That is the most significant quality that we feel she brings to the table."
Taylor is in a runoff against northwest side Councilman Ron Nirenberg in the June 10th runoff.
Helle praised Taylor for making it a priority to reach a new contract with the officers, something which had eluded city officials before
