A suspect is in custody after he allegedly rammed a San Antonio Police cruiser twice during a routine traffic stop early Monday, leaving the officer injured, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the officer had pulled into the parking lot of the Chase Bank at I-10 and DeZavala Rd. on the northwest side after receiving a report that a man was asleep inside the vehicle.
But she said the suspect then put his car in gear and smashed into her patrol car, then did it again. He then sped off, but was captured a block away, at Vance Jackson and Dezavala.
No word on why he went ballistic during a traffic stop. Detectives are searching the suspect's car.
The officer was checked out at the scene, but was not seriously injured.
