Plane In Air Force One Fleet Damaged in San Antonio

Mistakes by some Boeing mechanics in San Antonio could have led to one of the planes in the Air Force One fleet catching  fire in mid-flight.  An incident report released by the Air Force this  week says the oxygen system aboard one of two aircraft in use was  contaminated while the plane was undergoing maintenance at a Boeing  plant in San Antonio.

The three mechanics used tools that were  not properly cleaned of residue while performing the work.  The incident  happened in April of 2016.  It did not result in any injuries and  Boeing paid for the four-million-dollars in damages caused.  The "Air  Force Times" first reported the incident.
