Comal County Man Faces Life For Sexually Assaulting a Little Girl on a School Bus

A former student at New Braunfels Canyon High School is facing up to life in prison, after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12 year old girl he rode home with on the school bus, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Prosecutors say Fredys Rios-Barahona would ride home on the same bus as the victim during the 2013-14 school year, when he was a student at Canyon High and the victim as a student at Canyon Middle School.

Officials say Rios-Barahona had a 'history of disruptive behavior' and had been disciplined for 'inappropriate contact with female students.'

One day on the way home from school, prosecutors say Rios-Barahona sexually abused the little girl on the school bus.

State District Judge Dib Waldrip will assess punishment following a pre sentence report.  He could get 5-99 years or life in prison for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, and 2-20 years for an additional conviction of Indecency With a Child by Contact.
