Airport Traffic Hits New March Record at SAT

San ANtonio International Airport says passenger traffic hit an all time record for March two months ago, another indication of a strong travel summer ahead, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

San Antonio Aviation Director Russ Handy says 766,000 people got on or off planes at SAT during March, up 7.7% from March of 2016 and the strongest March ever at the airport.

Handy credits new domestic non stop service on Frontier and Southwest Airlines.

International traffic was down slightly in March, but he expects that to turn around thanks to the new daily non stop to Toronto which was introduced earlier this month.
