Walking around in somebody else's yard wearing only your underwear is not safe, as a man learned the hard way this morning.
Police tell 1200 WOAI news that a homeowner investigating a prowler in the back yard of his home on Cliff Oaks, which is in the Medical Center area, discovered the man, dressed in his skivvies, trying to climb over his backyard fence.
The homeowner warned the intruder, then shot him in the leg, holding him on the ground until police arrived.
Officers and paramedics took the man to the hospital. They say they don't know why the man was in somebody else's back yard wearing only his undies, but they suspect he has 'mental issues.'
